I am looking at some interesting projects on the horizon and I really couldn’t figure out how to do them until today when I looked at my WordPress Admin Panel. It turns that BBPress is starting to get polished nicely and is actually ready for primetime.
That means BBPress sure beats the other two alternatives, phpBB3 and SMF 2.0. phpBB3 conjurs up too many images of security bugs that seemed to dog phpBB2 while SMF 2.0 is progressing so slowly and their theme is just so much of a mess, it seems impossible to figure out how to make changes.
So it looks like I will be putting together a BBPress board in the next few days for one of my projects. I am not 100% certain that it can do what I need it to do, but I am willing to try it and see how far I can get with it and see how easily I can mod it to do what I need it to do. I will give more reports as things progress.
