NBA Stars and Ali G

I just found an awesome video Youtube with Ali G. He’s interviewing a bunch of NBA stars for TNT. It’s hilarious to sit through and watch all of them. It funny to see the reactions of the NBA stars to the pure stupidity of Ali G. It’s a video that you’ll enjoy so sit back and play it. You’ll get more than a few laughs.

A Sad Day

It’s a sad day. It’s a very sad day. Tim Russert of Meet The Press has passed away. I tape Meet The Press every Sunday on my Tivo. I appreciate his hard hitting questioning and his way of getting to the truth of the matter, or at least trying to get to the truth. He will be truly missed.

I do not know who they can find that could take the place of him or deliver the questioning quite like he has done. Other journalists seem to be afraid to ask the tough questions, not Tim Russert. I just hope that truth in this campaign season doesn’t take a hit due to this tragic turn of events.

My hat is off to you, Tim.

Video Games and My Kids

It’s so funny seeing how my kids keep wanting to learn more and more. My kids have really gotten into internet flash games. They love trying their hands at all of the games and are anxious to show off their game prowness to daddy.

I love watching them play. They are far from perfect when they play the games, but they are always trying and never giving up. They’ll just keep trying until they find the way that works. This is very encouraging for me since it’s a value that I want to instill in them.

I used to be anti Video games until I started seeing how they can use them to learn. I still try to limit how much they play and the types of games they play, but I also know there is some good in them.

Family Friendly Movies

My wife went ahead and ordered some great family friendly movies yesterday. It’s been a tough thing finding good entertainment choices for my family. I know my mom had given me some of these family friend movies before, but now they have taken on a new importance.

It’s important for my kids and my wife to be able to share everything that we can together. We set aside one evening a week to help the kids grow spiritually and it’s great and it truly is something important. They look forward to it every week. Hopefully the movies will come quickly so we can start enjoying the movies!

12 Ounce Cans

I guess it is time for a stupid post. It’s just another series of thoughts from my twisted mind. I always thought that 12 ounce cans were the same all over the world. They look so standard and you would think that most of the world would just use that same size.

I know that the rest of the world is on the Metric system, but on a typical 12 ounce can, it also has the number of milliliters, 355 to be exact. I’m sure you agree it’s easier to talk about a 12 ounce can than three hundred fifty-five milliliter can, right?

Ok, back to the universality of the 12 ounce can. Oops, there is no universality. The 12 ounce can is confined to the US, the rest of the world uses a 330 ml can. That’s 11 ounces for the metric disabled crowd, but that’s not important.

The important fact is that foreigners get 1 ounce less to drink in their cans of root beer. Ok, 1 ounce doesn’t seem like a lot, but think about it, is 25 ml less! 25 is a big number. I like the metric system.
