Go For Training To Get Ahead

Many people come to me and ask me for career advice ever since I took a position giving job training. Even though I have long left that position, people still think of me as the go to person for advice on career choices.

Naturally, I always suggest first that people go into business for themselves. Unfortunately, not everyone is cut out for the business world and are more content being employees. Not a problem. For them, I suggest job training. I tell them to find a growing industry and then focus on a particular occupation they would enjoy. Next, I tell them to get job specific training in that industry and make money.

It’s really easy if you think about it.

Air Ambulance Services Save Lives

When minutes and even seconds count, air ambulance services can save the day. They can make sure that patients get from an accident scene or even a rural hospital to a better medical care facility quickly, easily, and safely. Not only that, air ambulance services are able to even transport medical patients from one country to another. In fact, a friend of mine who was injured in Thailand was able to be transferred to a hospital back in the states where he could receive better health care. They have saved countless lives.

An air ambulance service like Aerocare is offers quality air ambulance services throughout the US and to international destinations. Trained medical personnel accompany the patients on special flights to better medical care. They make medivac flights available for those who need them.

Real Resume Help

A friend of mine was teaching English in Mexico. He didn’t even finish prepa because he went to Canada when he should have been in prepa.

He was an illegal worker in Canada and his first job was as a dishwasher and then he worked as a clerk in a donut shop.

He had been teaching LG executives and they wanted to help him get a suitable job in their company, but he needed to document his work in the form of a CV. He came to me asking for help and I told him I could help with a nice CV.

Easy peasy, I took at a look at his experience as a dishwasher and changed it to assistant to the chef. He asked me why and I asked him, did you ever help the Chef? He said yes and I told him, see, you were an assistant to the chef.

Next, I put on it that he was an Assistant Store Manager. Why? I asked him, were you ever left in charge when the manager left the shop? Yes, he was…because he was the only employee working for a few hours each shift. No problem, assistant manager. :)

Here is a real resume tip. Never tell a lie on your resume. Just find your skills and make it look good

Get Great Tactical Clothing

I love tactical pants. I know I am not a policeman and I am not in the military but I just love the way tactical clothing feels when I wear it. It’s high quality and it’s meant to be wore all day and stand up to abuse.

When you look at 5.11 tactical pants from LAPoliceGear.com, you get pants that are durable, long lasting and best of all priced affordably. I like their whole line of tactical clothing. They make it easy to order from them, you can do all of your ordering right from home and you can even get free shipping.

Disaster Preparation

I think it’s time to be prepared for disaster. Disaster can strike at any time and with the recent earthquake in Thailand and Cyclone in Burma, it’s easy to see just how fragile things can be even if you are prepared. Think how much worse things could be if you aren’t prepared.

It’s a good idea to keep a backpack for every family member filled up with food and important items in case of disaster. In my backpack, I have flash drive filled with scanned copies of all of my family’s important papers. I have packs of crackers with a peanut butter. I’ve got a couple cans of corned beef. I have a flashlight and an extra set of batteries. I have drinking water. I know it’s not a full 72 hour kit, but I do have some things on hand for emergencies.

Learning How To Serve

I remember back when I was teaching English in Thailand. One of the special projects I did with my students was to work with a few restaurants in town to translate their menus and give their wait staff special training in English and dealing with western tourists. It was a good experience and a lot of fun.

I think they would have loved to see The Perfect Server. It’s a waitress training video from Vat19. It’s a good overview of what it takes to be a good waiter or waitress, including all of the proper ways to serve food and treat guests. Many of the lessons are shown by comparing the actions of two waiters, the good and the not so good one. In fact, this video would be perfect for restaurants as part of their new server training sessions.

You can find this video and other amazing products, like the giant wine glass, at Vat19. Yes, you have got to see that giant wine glass. It holds an entire bottle of wine!
