Time To Find A New Watch

I am looking for a new watch. I am tired of the watches that can’t handle a busy lifestyle. They are too easy to break and just can’t stand up to my abuse. My wife has been telling me to take a look at Sector watches. I decided to take a look and I have to say that I am impressed with their styling and judging from the feedback I have heard, Sector watches are high quality watches can stand up to heavy use and even abuse. Sounds like my kind of watch.

GPS Tracking Is Now A Reality

Technology is getting more clever each and every. I remember years ago, I have a handheld GPS receiver. It was great to track where I was and even my speed. It was kind of rudimentary, but it worked well enough for my uses.

Now things have really changed. You can get a GPS tracking device that can track where the device is, no matter where it is. LiveViewGPS is awesome. It keeps track of its location and every 10 seconds it uploads its location to the web where you can view it in real time. Imagine the possibilities of this great technology. Put it in your car and you’ll where your car is at any moment. Hmm, sounds good.

Get Great Tactical Clothing

I love tactical pants. I know I am not a policeman and I am not in the military but I just love the way tactical clothing feels when I wear it. It’s high quality and it’s meant to be wore all day and stand up to abuse.

When you look at 5.11 tactical pants from LAPoliceGear.com, you get pants that are durable, long lasting and best of all priced affordably. I like their whole line of tactical clothing. They make it easy to order from them, you can do all of your ordering right from home and you can even get free shipping.

A Great Way To Cover Your Load

One of the things I learned early on when working on a farm was to protect the crops. Once the harvest process started, any rain could and would ruin the harvested crops. When I drove a sugar beet truck, we would have our truck filled and then we would cover it with a tarp if there was even a hint of any rain or inclement weather. If the load was especially large, we would cover it as well to avoid any kind of loss. The same was true when I drove the wheat truck to the grain silo.

It wasn’t fun fastening the tarp, especially if you were the only one there to do it. I sure wish our trucks would have had an electric roll tarp. It rolls the tarp over your truck or trailer with just a flip of a switch. Talk about easy. Agricover makes these electric roll tarps as well as other agriculture truck and trailer coverings. They even make roll-up coverings for pickup truck beds.

12 Ounce Cans

I guess it is time for a stupid post. It’s just another series of thoughts from my twisted mind. I always thought that 12 ounce cans were the same all over the world. They look so standard and you would think that most of the world would just use that same size.

I know that the rest of the world is on the Metric system, but on a typical 12 ounce can, it also has the number of milliliters, 355 to be exact. I’m sure you agree it’s easier to talk about a 12 ounce can than three hundred fifty-five milliliter can, right?

Ok, back to the universality of the 12 ounce can. Oops, there is no universality. The 12 ounce can is confined to the US, the rest of the world uses a 330 ml can. That’s 11 ounces for the metric disabled crowd, but that’s not important.

The important fact is that foreigners get 1 ounce less to drink in their cans of root beer. Ok, 1 ounce doesn’t seem like a lot, but think about it, is 25 ml less! 25 is a big number. I like the metric system.

Impending Rice Shortage

There is a very bad impending rice shortage that is preparing to strike rice importing countries in Asia. This could be very bad and it is not something that has come out of the blue. This is a crisis that has been brewing for several years as land previously devoted to rice production in rice exporting countries has been put to other uses.

This means that rice production growth in the main exporting countries has leveled off and rice exports have started to fall. This means that countries like Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines are having a very tough time finding adequate rice on the world market.

Prices in the Philippines have already spike by more than 30 to 50% at the retail level and further price increases are in the offing with an actual shortage predicted in the fall. This isn’t a one time problem, but rather this is looking to be a yearly problem with no end in site.

And this could very well turn into a political issue.
