Brazil Beckons Me
I’d love to visit South America again. I’ve been there once, but it’s beckoning me to visit once again. Brazil has to weigh the most heavily on my mind. The beautiful beaches, the immense and expansive Amazon, the rolling farmland of the south, the majesty of the Pantanal, they call for my return. I often will look on travel websites and in magazines for Brazil vacation packages that can help me return for one more visit. With a wife and two kids, I don’t know when I will get a chance to go back, but I do know that it will be a great family vacation.

I have looked at several different businesses to go into. Previously I thought about silk screening my own custom tshirts and then sell them. That really didn’t get too far because I am not a good designer. I did come across a better idea and one that I am thinking seriously about doing. It involves buying cheap t-shirts from a cool site like RoadKillTshirts.com and then reselling. It could be quite profitable and a lot more fun than trying to do my own designs.
Keep Time For The Family
Its very important in my family to set aside family time. Early on, we realized that work would too often get in the way of our family spending time together. To this end, we came up with an idea to increase the time we are able to spend together. We designate one day a week as a family day of the week.
During the family day of the week, we limit TV. If we watch a movie then it has to be a family style movie and has to be something we can bond over. We also make sure we eat every meal together and that we go out together as a family. It’s been very effective for us in building quality time together. While it may not be something you’d be able to, you might be able to just dedicate one day a month for a family day. It’s a good start.
On A Dangerous Slope
I often times wonder what motivates people to sometimes do what they end up doing. I wonder what motivates their decisions or what motivates their actions in dealing with the people around them. I see some people really take a negative look at other people. Whether it is making up a site like Topper World or maybe creating a hate site. Whatever the motivation, it only leads to hurt.
Maybe a lot of what I am thinking about is prompted by the attack on Wikileaks. I think freedom means that we are going to have to read things or see people print things that we don’t like. It’s up to us to fight the allegations and wrongs with proof rather than trying to fight it with continued lies or with an attempt to muzzle the speakers.
I would hope that we are advancing rather than descending down a dangerous slope.
