Improving Your Neighborhood

Before I talked about doing a Saturday cleanup around the house as a way to increase the value of your home and put more money on your balance sheet. Lately I have been trying to think of other ways to improve your property value without spending a lot of money.

I touched on trying to get your neighbors involved in doing a Saturday cleanup, but what if your neighbors are unable or unwilling to do the same thing? Well, the solution to that is offering your help on a Saturday. Remember that the value of your home is somewhat dependent on the other houses in your neighborhood so this will help you out with a better valued home.

Start off by visiting the homes of elderly members of your neighborhood who may not have the ability to do outside work. Identify a couple of projects that need to be done and get started. It might just what you need to do in order to prompt other people to take the same pride in their neighborhood.

Helping others, now that’s a universal value.
