Now that Mono Develop 1.0 has now been released, it looks it is now possible to develop and run .net applications on Linux. I am not sure what this means really, but it is exciting. It means that Linux is able to compete more effectively with the Microsoft juggernaut.

It means that people can develop a program on one platform and then be able to use it on multiple computers and OSs. Anything that expands the accessibility of computers is a good thing and that’s just what this release is. Now it is on to version 2.0 which is in beta!
